Sinopse

David Gale (Kevin Spacey) é um professor que trabalha na Universidade do Texas e também um ativista contra a pena de morte. Até que, após o assassino de uma colega de trabalho, Gale é injustamente acusado e condenado à pena contra a qual ele tanto combate. O caso chama a atenção de Elizabeth Bloom (Kate Winslet), uma jornalista que decide investigar a vida de Gale e também o sistema judicial que o condenou à pena de morte.
